Where do I get Carbon?

ZipIt requires Carbon version 1.3.1. Carbon is a component of the Mac OS system software. If you cannot start ZipIt, and you get an error message stating either that you need a newer version of CarbonLib, or that you simply do not have it, follow these steps:

• If you have Mac OS 9.x:
  • Go to the Apple menu;
  • Choose Software Update from the Control Panels submenu;
  • Click "Update now";
  • Follow the instructions to install the latest version of CarbonLib.
• If you have Mac OS 8.6, or the above instructions do not work:
  • Click here to download the correct version of CarbonLib directly from Apple's web site;
  • Run the installer that you download from that site.
